Breaking News: Latest on the Hunt for the 2011 Beach House

The most recent house we have looked at is called Beagle By The Sea. It is located in Frisco, North Carolina, which is directly next to Hatteras. The oceanfront house, with private walkway to the beach, features 6 bedrooms and 2 Queen Sleeper Sofas on the first floor. The house has 4.5 bathrooms, including one full bath on the first floor, 2 full baths on the second, and a full and a half bath on the top level. The professionally designed kitchen has an industrial sized refrigerator/freezer as well as double appliances. Additionally, the house has a 16 x 40 ft. pool, with in-ground hot tub and poolside Tiki bar.

The realty representative told me that Frisco features a small grocery mart, and the larger grocery store for the area is about a ten-minute drive away.

I have e-mailed Corolla Classic Vacations to ask them about 2011 availability and prices. As soon as I hear more I will relay that information out.

Beach Trip Just Around the Corner

The annual trip to the beach is less than 4 weeks away. To be exact: 27 days, 8 hours, 10 minutes, 39 seconds and counting. 

People, it's time to get excited! In less than a month the trivialities of summer jobs, full time jobs, and occasional lawn-mowing jobs alike will be left behind as the Fitts family (and guests) converges on the latest house in Whalehead, NC. The house sits between Duck and Corolla, and is a landmark place at that. As previously mentioned, the house is sure to go down as a historic one in the history of family beach trips as it provides some of the most luxurious amenities since the days of Hughes Hideaway. With that in mind, remember for the next four weeks what lies around the corner. Remember that with each Monday morning gone by, we are one step closer to the greatest week of the year. And ladies and gentlemen, this very well could top the charts as the greatest family vacation in the modern era.

Fitts Beach Trip Rapidly Approaching

As snowfall blankets the East Coast and the Midwest enters its "polar plunge", we are once again reminded of the nearness of the annual family beach vacation to the Outer Banks. A winter chest cold makes us realize that a sunburn really isn't all that bad. Freezing rain stirs memories of icy pops, family sledding trips bring to mind the thrill of watching Uncle Bill ride Jazmine's boogie board, and smoothies (only for girls of course) seem that much more appetizing as the temperature plummets faster than the elevator in our new house (whoo!).

With this in mind, we remember that 172 days is less than half of a year. We're on the homestretch everyone, and it's Jamaican me crazy!

Titled Fun In The Sun, this year's house is one for the ages. Featuring 6 Master Bedrooms, parking for 13 vehicles, a max occupancy of 20 people (we'll have to hold a block party, clearly), and its very own guest home, the house for the 2009 trip is by far the most extravagant to date. 

The house is located in the Whalehead community, situated between Duck and Corolla. An aerial map of the community can found here (our house is # J40922).
